Following the people's movement of 2062/63 B.S. that replaced the constitutional monarchy with a democratic republican governance system, Nepal transitioned into a federal structure as mandated by the constitution drafted by the Constituent Assembly. As a result, seven provinces were established, each with seven ministries. In this context, the Ministry of Land Management, Agriculture, and Cooperatives was established on 2074/10/22 B.S. With the aim of mobilizing the cooperative sector for the economic, social, and agricultural development of the province, the ministry adopted a policy to utilize land based on its nature and to promote mechanization, commercialization, market linkage, and modernization in agriculture and livestock production and trade. The goal is to transform the sector and create employment opportunities through competitive agricultural development.
